A Stunning 9.2 km Loop Hike in Jardín: Trail Guide from Glamping Jardín
When you’re in Jardín, we think the best way to experience its natural beauty is by hitting the trails. On a bright Wednesday morning, with nature calling, we set out on a 9.2 km loop hike right from Glamping Jardín, ready to take in every sight and sound this stunning region offers. What to Expect
The scenic trial begins at Glamping Jardín, following the same gravel and stone road that leads up to the glamping site. You walk right along the banana and coffee plantations, and it is a pleasure to see the beauty and floriation of these plants! Once you get down you will walk a short bit on the main road. Before you cross a bridge, you will take a left and will be welcomed by the soothing rush of the river’s powerful
flow.
This is where you start to hike up again. Not too difficult but just the right challenge if you are moderately fit. At some point you will be able to see the village of Jardín and if you are lucky, you can enjoy a show of paragliders! Furthermore, you can expect to see how the locals live up on these hills, its enchanting to see all the colourful finca’s (traditional farms), each with its unique charm.
We paused at a charming viewpoint, enjoying a well-deserved break with our fresh banana and views over Jardín. After this break it took us a little less than an hour to finish the loop back to Glamping Jardín. I was amazed by the views that the other side of the mountain offered. Along the way you will find a nice mirador where you can enjoy the other side. From this point it is not much more than a 20 minute down hill walk back to Glamping Jardín.
Recommendations:
- Phone with full battery: To check the route and make some amazing photo’s!
- Sun protection: the sun can be strong in Jardín, so be sure to pack sunscreen and maybe even a hat.
- Start early: mornings are usually the best time to start your hike to avoid afternoon rain.
- Raincoat: never a bad idea in a climate so every changing as Jardín’s. I had to take mine out once, so I was happy I brought it!
